Create Schema in Sql Server 2000

Hi everybody,
I like to asked anyone who is very good at T-Sql to help me with Sql Server 2000.

Thanks in advance.

In Sql Server 2000 I have the statement

use DBTEST

CREATE SCHEMA AUTHORIZATION Ross
CREATE VIEW v1(c1) AS SELECT c1 from t1
CREATE TABLE t1(c1 int)

GO

It work correctly, but Ross don't belong to DBTEST; also

use DBTEST

CREATE SCHEMA AUTHORIZATION atrandom
CREATE VIEW v1(c1) AS SELECT c1 from t1
CREATE TABLE t1(c1 int)

GO

work with correctness. Why ?

The owner can be every words ?

SQL Server 2000 does not have schema concept like SQL Server 2005 so the authorization syntax doesn't really do anything. User-schema separation is available completely in SQL Server 2005 where the authorization clause makes sense.

Create Disaster recovery site (Seperate physical location)

Hello, let me just say thank you in advance for any responses.
I am Project Manager currently trying to architect a Disaster Recovery site.
Is there a way in SQL 2000 (Clustered) connected to an EMC SAN to have SQL
write to a database simultaneously at a totally seperate location? Open to
any hardware or software solutions as well....basically I need to be able to
flip a switch at one location and have my DR site at another location become
active with full functionality Web, App, DB, yes I know thats a tall order
but money is no object....
You have two options for the DB: You can use log shipping to get a near
real time standby site or you can use the EMC Mirrorview product to create a
standby data set. Both are somewhat complex but are not impossible to
implement.
Web and App can be load-balanced server farm that just deals with life when
half the universe disappears.

|||Hi
Look at EMC's SRDF. It is the solution at EMC level. We use if got all our
systems (bug banking environment)

Create cube file with Analysis Service Command?

Hi all experts,

Is it possible to create local cube file in SQL job agent with Analysis Service Command?

And how?

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

There is a similar thread about creating local cube files here: http://forums.microsoft.com/MSDN/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=380407&SiteID=1

|||

In an earlier post I mentioned you can use the ASCMD utility to submit MDX statements to an OLAP cube via the command line. You can use that for what follows.

To get the MDX statement script, I opened Profiler on my SSAS instance and then started up Excel 2007. In Excel, I connected to the OLAP cube and then in the OLAP Tools portion of the Data ribbon I selected to create a local cube. I used the wizard to define the cube and submitted the request. Profiler caught the submitted statement. Here it is (with some data removed to keep the size of this post down:

Code Snippet

CREATE GLOBAL CUBE [Adventure Works] STORAGE 'C:\Documents and Settings\bcsmith\My Documents\Adventure Works.cub' FROM [Adventure Works]
(
MEASURE [Adventure Works].[Internet Sales Amount],
MEASURE [Adventure Works].[Internet Order Quantity],
MEASURE [Adventure Works].[Internet Extended Amount],
MEASURE [Adventure Works].[Internet Tax Amount],
DIMENSION [Adventure Works].[Account].[Accounts]
,
DIMENSION [Adventure Works].[Department].[Departments]
,
DIMENSION [Adventure Works].[Destination Currency].[Destination Currency]
(
LEVEL [Destination Currency],
MEMBER [Destination Currency].[Destination Currency].&[US Dollar]
),
DIMENSION [Adventure Works].[Employee].[Employees]
,
DIMENSION [Adventure Works].[Organization].[Organizations]
,
DIMENSION [Adventure Works].[Scenario].[Scenario]
(
LEVEL [Scenario],
MEMBER [Scenario].[Scenario].&[1]
)

)

Hope that helps you get started.
